As is well known, corrugated rollers are the core components of corrugated cardboard production lines, and the correct use and maintenance of corrugated rollers are particularly important.
1. Try to use high-quality corrugated base paper as much as possible
Practice has proven that in China, low-cost and low-quality corrugated base paper can exacerbate the wear and tear of corrugated rollers and shorten their service life.
2. Install a limit device to accurately adjust the pressure and gap between the corrugated roller and the pressure roller
In the single-sided machine of the corrugated cardboard production line, when the corrugated cardboard with adhesive is bonded to the surface paper, a certain pressure is required between the corrugated roller and the pressure roller to ensure the bonding effect.
In China, many single sided CTP machines do not have limit devices. Some limit devices are unreliable, and some operators are not informed to prohibit direct contact between the corrugated roller and the pressure roller. As a result, the surface of the pressure roller is frequently damaged. By installing a limit device and adjusting the gap between the pressure roller and the corrugated roller, as well as the pressure packaging container, it is possible to avoid damage to the corrugated roller and pressure roller caused by improper gap control.
3. Internal monitoring of the wear of corrugated rollers
The wear of reinforced steel corrugated rollers is linear, so it is necessary to regularly inspect the height of the rollers, accurately infer the expected life and replacement date of the rollers, and ensure the production quality of corrugated cardboard.
4. Grinding
After the corrugated roller is worn, a stepped and obvious pattern will appear on the roller surface. The middle part of the corrugated roller is heavily worn. This will result in uneven pressure on the pressure roller clamp and difficulty in evenly applying glue.
To overcome this, diamond grinding paste can be used to grind or remove a small amount (0.05mm) of material from the edge of the journal. However, this operation is very difficult and requires high skills to avoid grinding off important coatings on the corrugated surface.
A small fixture produced by some factories can be installed on a single sided machine for packaging logistics, making grinding work more accurate and easy. By carefully polishing the uncoated corrugated roller, the service life of the corrugated roller can be significantly extended. But for corrugated rollers that are severely worn, they should be replaced in a timely manner.
